Anyone else would just follow the path that someone else has already decided to take. You can create your own path for yourself, even if it is just by taking one step at a time. This quote reminds me how important it is to own all of my own decisions and learn from them no matter what they are.
Take this for example; I had a phone conversation with my best friend about what our lives would be like in five years. We both agreed that we would like to go back to school to get our Master's degrees while staying at home with our families instead of working outside of the home. We could not be happier with our decision making but then, because we do not own all of these choices, we begin to doubt ourselves and wonder if we made the right decision for us by following our hearts instead of other people’s advice.
This quote brings me hope though because I know that no matter what direction my life takes, I can always learn from each choice and look back on it with a big smile on my face knowing that I have accomplished something great for myself!
